Ingredients:
- Prosecco (La Marca is the move) — 1.5 oz / a good pour
- St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur — 3 oz / till it’s sweet
- Soda Water (or Sprite) — 1 oz / to top it off
- Fresh Mint — a handful / whatever smells good
- Lime or Lemon Slice — one or two, to garnish
- Ice
Fill a wine glass with ice. Pour the St. Germain first, it’s the base. Add lemon slices, Prosecco (slightly dry, light bubbles). Top it off with soda. Slap the mint to wake it up, then drop it in. Garnish. Taste it. Adjust it. Make it yours.
You can hand somebody the exact formula, every step spelled out, every amount precise to the milliliter, and their version is still going to taste different than yours.
This Hugo Spritz is your permission slip to stop following rules and start trusting yourself. Pour to taste. More St. Germain if you want it sweeter. More bubbles if you want it lighter. Adjust. Make it yours.
